Get To Know Chris. . .

Christopher Joseph Gamel (Chris) was born in Boston, Massachusetts to a Syrian father and mixed-mutt Mother of Greek, Italian, Swedish, Portuguese and British descent. This can explain why when Chris is asked "What are you?" an inhale of oxygen is needed to complete his run on sentence of what "completes" him. At a young age his family packed up and moved to Houston, Texas where Chris attended grade school to High School and eventually completing his BFA in Theatre Arts at Stephen F Austin State University.

As a kid, Chris found himself fascinated with airplanes and flying commercially. This fixation would utlitmately lead to him earning his Solo-Engine Private Pilots Certification at just 16 years old. While this was a true passion and love for him, Chris knew where his heart resided - Acting.

Since the beginning of time (1991) Chris has found himself being at one with the stage. From his first time acting in his Kindergarten "Thanksgiving Play," Chris knew what his mission was in life - To make those around him entertained, in any way possible. In High School, he participated in over 15 productions in four years, including two titles for "Best Actor" in Texas' UIL One Act Play competition. When it came to deciding on college, Chris gives a big thanks to Tress Mills Kurzym, his High School Theatre teacher, who ensured him acting was his destiny and he had to pursue it. Embry Riddle Aeronautical University was quickly marked off his list, and so began his nutritional training of professional acting at Stephen F Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas. Here, he landed his first mainstage production during freshman-year in "Hair." For the next three years he was part of 20+ productions including Tennessee Williams' "The Night of the Iguana", John Guare's "Six Degrees of Separation" (not Kevin Bacon) and his favorite - Michael Cristofer's "The Shadow Box" - to name a few. Here he also gained experience acting in numerous short and feature-length films for the SFA Film Department.

In 2008, Chris spent one year studying the practices of Grotowski, Stanislovsky, Meyerhold and Checkhov at Rose Bruford College in Sidcup, Kent, just ouside of London. During this time, Chris also got a chance to study visual arts and puppetry in Barcelona, Spain at Institut del Teatre.
